Deep in the Water

Water is a funny thing.

71% of the world is made up of water. It is also a part of us, and as such, we need to drink water to survive.

But there are moments when we get to sit back and enjoy its wonder around us. From lakes, rivers, and seas, water has a magical power that allows us to feel a sense of awe.

Capturing water in its free form in a photograph can be tricky, but also really rewarding. When I was taking this picture, I didn’t feel pressured or stressed to get the perfect shot. In fact, it took me over 20 mins: 18 mins to enjoy the flow of the water and 2 mins to take the photo with all the slow shutter speed setups.

I was drawn back to this photo today to reflect on how water can flow fast, similar to my life with long days and short nights. It is good to stop, like in this photo, and reflect on what is important in life.

Unlike water, I will not be around forever, but I will always flow like a river in life to see where it carries me along.
