Sometimes you go looking for one movie and end up watching something completely different. That’s exactly how I stumbled onto The Tomorrow War. I was actually searching for 2012 (yeah, the disaster film from years ago), but instead, I landed on this one — and honestly, I’m glad I did.

One of the big reasons I hit play was Chris Pratt. I’ve always liked him because he has this balance of being funny and serious at the same time. I’ve seen him in Guardians of the Galaxy, so I thought, why not see him in another action-packed role?

The story starts off a little slow, but then — bang — the action kicks in when future soldiers literally appear out of a glowing blue cloud in the middle of a football match. If you wanted to announce something to the whole world, that’s not a bad way to do it! From there, it’s a non-stop rollercoaster: aliens, time travel, blood, and explosions everywhere.

What really hooked me was the family twist. Without spoiling too much, Pratt’s character ends up meeting his daughter — who’s now grown up — in the future. That added a surprising emotional side to all the chaos, and it gave the movie some weight beyond just the fighting.

I also liked how the science and technical explanations were simple enough to follow. A lot of time-travel movies can get confusing, but this one kept me on board. Still, I have to admit the last 30 minutes felt rushed. The big final showdown was exciting, but predictable. I kept thinking the writers could’ve added another layer — like explaining more about where the aliens came from or why they’d been here so long. There were definitely some open questions left hanging.

Overall, though, I had a good time with The Tomorrow War. It’s not a perfect film, but if you want non-stop action with a bit of heart and you’re a Chris Pratt fan, it’s worth the watch. Just don’t expect every question to be answered.

My rating: 7/10 — fun, fast, and full of action, but with a slightly rushed finish.
